I used to be a photographer back in the day. Somewhere around early 2016, when I was barely 12, my father brought home a DSLR camera, and without realizing it, he handed me an entire world to explore. For the next seven or eight years, I spent almost every free moment chasing light, colours, skies, streets, and stories.

I had a little Blogger site back then where I would post my photographs along with small write-ups that tried to capture what the picture could not say on its own. Photography slowly became more than a hobby to me. It became the way I understood life, nature, silence, people, and even myself. Filmmaking followed somewhere along the way too.

With time, academics, responsibilities, and professional pursuits took over, and photography became a long lost friend. But every now and then, I look back at those years and realize they were some of the purest moments I have ever lived. This is an ode to that version of me, the boy who carried a camera everywhere and found magic in the ordinary.
